I think it took us 35 minutes before we started pressing and engaging in a football match. We gave them too much space. We were a bit fortunate to go in level at half time, with Ben Proctor pulling off some good saves. Our first (and probably only chance) occuured in the last ten minutes when the defence cleared a Karl Turner shot.
We were a lot better in the second half as we pushed up to reduce their ability to play short passes, which we did but it was a costly ball again in the last minute that has caused us to lose points. But a point in the circumstances wasn’t bad and I think a draw was a fair result.
Two injuries killed us with Kyle Lonsdale (groin) and Adam Douglas (concussion) having to be substituted, and their height and presence was then removed. Despite fears, we did manage to bounce back on the day.
We are still nine points clear of the closest team below us, and I feel that one win from our remaining matches will be enough to make us safe this season. It’s just finding that winning mentality to get us over the line as this the third match where we have conceded in the last minute to drop points.
